I am very happy to introduce the first newsletter for the Centre for Community Energy Transformation (CCET). Together with our municipal partners – the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, the Town of Caledon, and Peel Region – CCET is your resource for your journey to a net zero energy home or building and finding cost savings through energy efficiency. This newsletter will keep you informed of our program offerings to accelerate home energy retrofits and advance low carbon district energy solutions as part of the community transition to clean energy.
We wecome Laurie Dickson as CCET’s Lead for Home Energy Retrofits. Laurie has created the CCET website as a One-Stop Window to help you with your energy retrofit experience. Laurie brings to CCET a wealth of experience leading energy efficiency programs.
We have launched a free home energy consultation for homeowners in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon. Spaces are limited, so go to the CCET website to fill out the form to speak with an ‘energy coach’ to help you with your renovation.
CCET, together with Future Energy Oakville and Peel Region, is coordinating an exciting session on low carbon district energy at the May 22nd conference of the Ontario Geothermal Association. Companies with demonstrated experience building and running district energy systems will present the benefits of district energy and the challenges we need to address to install more district energy solutions in the region of Peel.
As CCET’s founding Executive Director, I look forward to working with our partners and communities to create opportunities for climate action on our shared journey to a low carbon future.
Cheers,
Tony Iacobelli, Executive Director
