We envision a future where every household in Ontario has access to honest, independent energy guidance.
Where making homes more efficient and comfortable is within reach for everyone, and no community gets left behind.
We partner with organizations across the region to deliver energy programs, reach underserved communities, and advance the clean energy transition.
I'm Herb Sinnock, Executive Director of the Centre for Community Energy Transformation. With over two decades of experience in sustainability and energy, I've dedicated my career to helping complex organizations, most often in post-secondary and public-sector settings, turn genuine sustainability ambitions into plans that actually get executed and last.
Before joining CCET, I spent over 16 years at Sheridan College, where I led the development of one of Canada's most ambitious campus energy and sustainability programs, including a 30-year Integrated Energy and Climate Master Plan.
That work reinforced something I've seen again and again. The hardest part of sustainability isn't identifying the right path forward, it's aligning the people, capital, and decision-making systems needed to walk it.
We're here to help communities and organizations navigate energy and community carbon transitions, build organizational readiness, and move you from ambition to action.
If our work resonates with you and what you are trying to accomplish, reach out, I'm always glad to start a conversation.

If you care about making home energy retrofits, district energy, or the clean energy transition more accessible in Canada, we want to collaborate with you.
This work is only possible if we collaborate as a community.
We are actively looking to partner with organization like:
Community organizations connect us to those who need support
Municipalities fund the work and open doors
Utilities and contractors help us deliver upgrades
Funders and sponsors make new programs possible
What partnership can look like:
Every partnership is different. Here are some of the ways we've worked with partners in the past:
Co-hosting community workshops, information sessions, and events
Joint outreach to underserved communities through trusted community partners
Coordinating program referrals across organizations so households get the support they qualify for
Bringing stakeholders together to advance district energy and thermal network projects
Delivering contractor training in partnership with industry bodies
Sponsoring specific programs, events, or community initiatives
Collaborating on grant applications and research projects
If you have an idea for something that isn't on this list, let's talk anyway.

We're local
We were created by municipal partners in Ontario to convene people and organizations who share a vision of a sustainable future.

We're experts
We bring deep expertise, independent perspective, and a history of coordinating across sectors for community scale energy transition projects.

We're a nonprofit
Our goal is to move the energy transition forward and our work is backed by municipal funding and a board of climate and energy leaders from across Canada.

We're collaborative
Through our community partner network, we reach households who've historically been left out of the energy transition. Partnering with us extends your reach, too.
